INSTITUTE FOR ASIAN AMERICAN COMMUNITY RESEARCH
The Institute for Asian American Community Research is the first community-based Asian American research institute in the South. Keeping true to the CPACS vision and mission, the Institute for Asian American Community Research is committed to building stronger communities through quality research and dissemination of findings.
The institute’s main objectives are to:
- Train community members, including youth and adults, to conduct research and to use the results for positive community change;
- Evaluate and develop new models for program effectiveness;
- Provide consultation, training, and workshops in various communities and groups to strengthen their internal capacity;
- Build collaborating partnerships to conduct research and make findings accessible to the broader community;
- Promote the culturally competent approaches in research; and
- Disseminate study findings, best practices, and lessons learned through publications, presentations, and various public forums.
