LEGAL & IMMIGRATION

US IMMIGRATION & NATURALIZATION SERVICES
CPACS’s legal department is committed to the practice of Immigration and Nationality Law. This department represents clients all over the United States and from countries around the world. We work on immigration issues including employment-based petitions, marriage petitions, visa extension, change of status, and naturalization.

Immigration law is highly specialized and technical and is constantly changing. We stay abreast of these changes and provide creative solutions to assist individuals and companies with all their immigration needs.

OTHER PRACTICE AREAS
  • Keep all originals, if possible, and make copies of everything.

  • Send all correspondence by certified mail and keep all receipts.

  • Create a folder with all your immigration information and letters received from the USCIS.

  • You must notify the USCIS of any address changes or phone number changes within 10 business days. (Failure to update address changes is a ground for termination of the application).

  • Be early for all of your appointments.

  • Try not to reschedule your appointments; it will result in delays or lost paperwork.

  • You must enclose a “final court disposition” for any divorce or criminal records. Also, you must obtain a parole or probation record indicating the completion of your alternative sentencing requirement. Final divorce decrees can be obtained from the Superior Court Clerk of the County you filed for divorce. Criminal convictions records can be obtained from the Court Clerk’s office. Georgia criminal background checks may be obtained at most police stations.

  • Bring the original document of any copies you might have submitted in the application.
