Subject   CPACS High School students receive Nike award! print

On Saturday, April 25th Community Action for Teens (CAT) will accept an
award presented by Nike and the HandsOn Network to acknowledge their
community involvement and service projects.  CAT will receive the Nike
Athletes Serve award, which recognizes outstanding individuals or groups who
are improving their communities through volunteer service.  The four CAT
officers will receive a $150 Nike gift card and $1000 will be given to the
Center for Pan Asian Community Services (CPACS).

CPACS created Community Action for Teens to provide high school age youth a
program that builds appreciation and respect for the community and fosters
leadership development and community service skills.  CAT has continually
taken part in community service activities and since 2005 has created and
implemented community events to promote healthy lifestyle choices and
anti-substance abuse.
